WordSpace stationery
A pack of mini letters, envelopes, stamps and stickers.
Children can enjoy writing to the insects and then posting the letters outside in the trees, under rocks or in a specially built ant post box.
Teachers may want to involve lunchtime supervisors parents and governors in writing back...from the insects of course!
Encourages children to think about writing for a particular audience (the insects).
Provides children with many purposes for writing; for KS1 it could be creating an imaginary world and for KS2 it could be to imagine and explore feelings and ideas.
Teachers’ activity notes provide lots of ideas for introducing the topic with suggested books to read before the activity and many cross-curricular activities.
